Sony DSCWX7 Cyber-shot Digital Still Camera Review

qphotographic.com Sony DSCWX7 Cyber-shot Digital Still Camera - Black (16.2MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.8 inch LCD The spec and functionality of this camera are amazing considering its size and price. I'd been more than happy with my Canon Ixus over the last five years, but when a friend offered to buy it, I decided to go for something better and smaller. The WX7 offers exceptional functionality in a camera which is not much bigger than a mobile phone. All the help info can be viewed on the LCD screen, so there's no need to scour through the user-manual. The 25mm wide angle lens means that group shots are easy and you can set 'blink' or 'smile' sensors to ensure the picture captures people at their best (although my teenage nephew hasn't smiled since he was a toddler, so we'll see if the WX7 can rise to the challenge there). 'Exmor R' means it functions well in low-light conditions, so it won't need to rely on the flash as much. Not sure how much use I'll make of the 3D, HD movie or panoramic sweep, but I'm sure some gadgeteers will covet these features. It's easy to reduce the spec on a picture by picture basis so that images take up less memory if you want to e-mail them. Zoom is available whilst in movie mode which not all other cameras can do. A USB cable is supplied to re-charge the battery and transfer images. You need to buy a case and SD card separately. qphotographic.co.uk
