Sony DSC-HX9V compact digital camera unboxing and quick review part 1 – no background music
I got the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX9V digital compact travel camera. In this video I unbox it and show you some detailed close-up shots of the camera itself. Watch the sample video footage at: www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com Part 2 will show you the full review and I'll upload samples of the video so you can judge quality for yourself. That will be up in a couple of days. Initial impressions of the Sony are that it feels incredibly well built and balanced and the new screen is extremely clear. The macro facility is incredible - I just took some test shots, hand-held by the light of a single bulb and they came out really well. Colour accuracy wasn't 100%, but you'll see that on the next video. I'll be uploading those test images with the review video. If you guys have any questions, please leave a comment and ask away. I'll be happy to try to answer your questions for you.

Hey! I’m thinking of buying a camera. Either this Sony HX9V or a Canon EOS 600d/Rebel T3i. I like photography and taking pictures, but I also want a good video feature. I know these are two entirely different cameras, and the DSLR is, of course, better. But what is the better buy? A DLSR is large and heavy, and it’s much more expensive. Can the Sonys picture and video quality come near that of the Canon’s`? The Sony also has incredible zoom? Thx

An excellent video sir. I am planning on getting an HX9V during Christmas time. A great review, and unboxing!! Gives people a basic look, and idea about the camera. I have heard really good views about it. Anyways, I was hoping if you wouldn’t mind answering two questions for me?
1) When will the next model come out?
2) Where am I able to buy the mini tripods you shows during this video?
Thank you so much for everything, keep up the good work!!!

Hi ! I bought one of those today, and I have a few problems: the manual is so lame it teaches almost nothing, so I must ask some things. First of all, the camera doesn’t get any GPS signal. And another thing: I can’t seem to be amle to set up the exposure, etc in Manual mode. Can someone PLEASE help me ?
Thanks

@Zoheba It’s to do with the scanning rate of the tv systems used in those countries, I think. That in turn is to do with the frequency electricity cycles at in the electric supply of those countries. It’s very much an historical thing, I believe and doesn’t really make much difference in real terms.

Why do Middle eastern and European Models of DSC Tx100v and DSC-Hx9V have 50fps at 1080 and not 60 fps at 1080 like American models? Why there is less 10 fps less in these models? That means there is a little compromise in video quality(less Frames per sec)?

@harasielite You’re very welcome. After I’ve taken a look at the PMB I’ll let you know if there’s anything that you have to do with it to render HD out to Youtube. Some applications have Youtube settings that are just awful – I had that problem myself with a preset in Adobe Premiere. I use my own settings now and get better quality.
