@navdeeprathee2006 – No, the flash doesn’t work while recording video. I just did a review on a cool lighting kit that addresses that issue, though! Check it out: v=kxuC_gnR_o0

i just recied my HX100V from amazon, but when i opened it, it does not have a tag or sticker like your did. Do you think mine was probably used or something?
January 23rd, 2012 - 10:16
@fronskii Yes it’s possible
January 23rd, 2012 - 11:10
@LawkSam . Yep. In Roumania is also from 400 to 550 euro ! a little expensive
January 23rd, 2012 - 12:07
You think it would have been better if Sony uses G Lens on HX100 instead of Carl Zeiss?
January 23rd, 2012 - 12:19
@BinaryCafe Thank’s so much for the help, i am still glad i can still get that effect with the camera
January 23rd, 2012 - 12:30
@CelineDionFan4568 – Yep, I was pretty excited to get the camera.
I was also surprised at how ‘solid’ it felt for a bridge camera, which I think came through in the video. Still lovin’ it.

@MrBillyflash – No, the background defocus mode is for still shots. If you want to focus on a person and have the background blurry when shooting video, you can do that, though. Just go in to the movie mode and choose scene. Choose a scene that lets you go with manual focus (like the landscape mode), then set the camera to manual focus. Then use the manual focus to achieve cool effects. Check out my ‘pulling focus’ video for a sample of how that looks for video. Cheers!

@fronskii – Yes, you can record while the battery is charging. I run this camera off the tripod, while plugged in to wall power all the time. You can even run the camera off wall paper when the battery is outside the camera. I do that sometimes when I am using a fresh battery in the HX1 (it uses the same battery).
January 23rd, 2012 - 14:24
HI! do you know if we can keep recording while the battery is charging?
January 23rd, 2012 - 15:03
Can you use the Background Defocus in video mode?
January 23rd, 2012 - 15:07
I’m planning on buying this camera, but it’s crazy how much cheaper it is in the US compared to Holland.. on amazon it’s like 340 euros, in Holland it’s 420 euro at best!
January 23rd, 2012 - 15:47
you were very enthusiastic about opening it x)
January 23rd, 2012 - 16:00
@yiso91
Definitely the HX100V. Out of those 3, It has the best image and video quality, high speed video (1080p @ 60 frames per second) 30x optical zoom, 10 photos per second rapid fire, large high-res screen and 15.9 Megapixels.

Great stuff indeed
I got three cams on my bucket list
Nikon L120
Fuji HS20
and this little beauty
Which one to go with ? Am looking for something to start with , provides the best bang for the buck
January 23rd, 2012 - 16:29
hi just bought this camera and i was thinking? do you feel like something is loose when you gently shake it on the lens area?
January 23rd, 2012 - 16:32
@BinaryCafe you can only record for 29 minutes anyway. The battery will last that long no problem. The HX9V does have zoom issues but otherwise a fantastic camera.

Hi,
I would post this only because your videos are top-grade. A long time ago you must have been a little boy dozing in class when your teacher said there just ain’t no such expression no-how in English as “off of”. Years passed, and your skills made you the truly excellent instructor/interpreter/teacher you are today, as evidenced by these superb videos. Get off of “off of”—use either one but never both together—and your videos will be just about perfect; you bet your bottom dollar.
