Sony Alpha SLT- A77 Hands-on Review
We've finally got our hands on the latest Sony DSLR! This innovative DSLR with a translucent mirror is semi-pro body. It promises to be a competitor of the Canon 7D and Nikon D7000, but is it any good? Price Reference: www.digitalrev.com

@videotitan1 He used to live in UK
January 28th, 2012 - 23:13
@manuelodabashian Actually, he’s a Nikon shooter mainly. I thought the review was fair. His only serious criticisms were the slow switch from rear LCD to EVF, slow responses to setting changes, and loss of light transmission to the sensor. All were evident in the video. He does also show Nikon and Canon deficiencies.

When cleaning these type of SLT camera sensors.. Will it be the same as cleaning a regular DSLR sensor? Am i gonna have to send it in to Sony or a specialty shop to have the sensor cleaned?

trying to mock a pretty good camera… haters gonna hate…
January 29th, 2012 - 00:34
@WCOASTBIGC Get a US1 95mb/s Sandisk Extreme card then… jeez.
January 29th, 2012 - 01:10
@JellyfishJNM The noise performance is good considering it has 24mp. You only lose 1/3 stop of light, that’s nothing. Compare it to the NEX-7 with the same sensor without the mirror, there is barely any difference at all. And the advantage is you gain 12fps and super fast AF for videos. Go eat a dick, dumbass.

@BoxxyFan so u still loose light? I mean u can’t bump iso as much as u want especially with the not really astonishing noise performance of the sony… Its like saying that u don’t loose light as u can just open the aperture or increase the shutter speed.

@KossakaGuardian A Canon…
But Kai is a 100% Nikon Fanboy
January 29th, 2012 - 03:02
Is Kai aware that Sony’s SLT’s boost the ISO up internally to compensate for the light loss? What a fucking dumb ass.
January 29th, 2012 - 03:18
What is the camera they are shooting videos with?
January 29th, 2012 - 03:46
@fluffyman15 I like you question, but I need more than 500 characters to answer, I send you a PM

@albertorestifo
why dont you like the new oled viewfinder?
is it bad or just personal preference?
January 29th, 2012 - 04:35
I’m a sony lover, and I love this review video, is really awesome! It’s true, I don’t like Translucent Mirror. I love traditional DSLR from Sony.
Why not you do a review about Sony A900?

Was the dog about to take a piss”?
January 29th, 2012 - 05:43
i think im gonna sticc with a canon t3i
January 29th, 2012 - 05:44
@DigitalDevilXL haha im in the same pickle. I really like the video of canon (60fps) but i have a nikon lense already but the sony is soooooo good…. argh
January 29th, 2012 - 06:25
@according206 : I agree. Only thing SONY lacks are its own lenses. I know they are making Minolta lenses now and have Zeiss lenses. Nikon and Canon have a vast arsenal of amazing lenses. Down the road I am sure SONY will bring something new to the lenses as well.

@videotitan1 :He is probably from Hong Kong. Remember HK used to be a British Colony.
January 29th, 2012 - 07:30
@jc636r It is indeed. Though I am gonna wait for A900 replacement. I think it will have the 36 megapixel sensor as the rumored Nikon D800 as Sony produces base sensors for Nikon while than Nikon tweaks them.
January 29th, 2012 - 08:16
@videotitan1 He is actually Chinese
January 29th, 2012 - 09:13
@swingAE86 A900 is an amazing camera. I own one and I highly recommended. If you don’t shoot in super low light and you don’t need live view this is a best pro camera body to own. 5 fps, 24 megapixels, 100% viewfinder, 19 cross type af points, lens micro adjustment. Color reproductions, focus, metering, exposure is amazingly accurate, focus is fast. Greatly faster than 5d Mk2 but not as fast as the D3. The images look realistic, not as vivid as Nikon and as flat as Canon. They look real.

@TechCrazy Also don’t forget that Sony makes sensors for Nikon, Pentax, and other camera manufactures… Canikon users always gonna bitch at other camera brands. Sony cameras are great. I have A900 and its an amazing full frame even though its 4 years old and due for replacement. The color and skin tone reproduction is nothing that Canikon can produce a lot less post production required plus 24 megapixels on full frame allow me to crop all I want.
January 29th, 2012 - 09:47
@manuelodabashian Kai shoots Nikon
January 29th, 2012 - 10:18

January 29th, 2012 - 10:24
So im still debating whether to get a Canon t3i or Nikon 5100 or sony alpha 77
