ugh! 12fps…… there goes your 150,000 actuations…!!!
Canon & Nikon are still the best!!!
December 26th, 2011 - 15:06
@madurabis no need to get pissy dude…i was just wondering bec i couldnt explain it to myself.
Thanks for clearing me up though!
I still wouldnt sacrifice image quality and good low light performance for a fast shutter speed and burst rate, but oh well i guess theres people out there who need those 20something fps…

@sexDrugsNrockNroll1 Look dude, Sony is the biggest consumer electronic manufacturer. You don’t think they will do something stupid do you? Your micro four third uses contrast detection AF while Sony SLT uses phase detection AF. Contrast detection is like snail compared to Phase detection. The AF process on Sony’s SLT is full time, meaning it won’t be interrupted even when the sensor is taking the picture. Wanna try to match the SLT AF speed with your pride?

@madurabis again…why bother making a translucent mirror?? I have a micro four thirds camera and it sure needs no translucent mirror in order to provide an evf!
December 26th, 2011 - 16:26
@sexDrugsNrockNroll1 half the light goes to image sensor which records signal that goes to EVF and half the light goes to AF sensor. What were you thinkin?
December 26th, 2011 - 17:04
waitwaitwait…that was weird…why bother putting in a translucent mirror when you have an electronic viewfinder. That does not make sense at all! They could of just left out the mirror completely thus giving the camera that bit better noise behavior.
Someone explain to me please what they were thinkin??
December 26th, 2011 - 17:26
rolling shutter when filming?
December 26th, 2011 - 17:37
@MrJippaLippa Totally agree, I’m tempted to get this camera as an alternative to the 5d mk2
December 26th, 2011 - 17:40
hey ! .. is it better than the canon EOS 60D , ‘COZ i have the canon 60D and im thinking of replacing it with this .. so what do you think , i need your help here ..:/
December 26th, 2011 - 17:47
Really good review. The NTSC model does have 24p. One question how is the video mode does it have aliasing and moire issues like Canon does?
December 26th, 2011 - 18:06
@BryanMumble have a look at a65, half the price but carried almost all the features of a77
December 26th, 2011 - 18:46
TETHERED Shooting with this camera?
December 26th, 2011 - 19:39
how does it compare to the 7d in low light shooting ??!!
because all the slt cameras like the a55 don’t perform very well in low lights even with fast lenses !!
2nd is there any way to shoot with lower resolution like 18MP instead of 24MP for the sake of increasing the buffer systems ??!! I mean the buffer will full up after 1 second continuous shooting 12 fps of 24MP images !!!
so it might get a bit longer to 3 seconds or so if u are shooting with 18MP only ?!
December 26th, 2011 - 20:20
now, thats a good review. thanks for vid
December 26th, 2011 - 21:00

SOLD!

@SquirrelFromGradLife Yes – I’m well aware of that. However, Nikon handles high-ISO noise better than sony (albeit marginally). It doesn’t just come down to the sensor used. You can see this for yourself on e.g. Dxomark.com. Also, some of the rumors have suggested that Nikon would use binning in the D400, yielding even better noise performance. I am saying good job Sony – sort of like I’m saying good job Nike for making good running shoes – but there is more to running. You do know that right?
December 26th, 2011 - 23:01
@SquirrelFromGradLife
Lol noise is definitly a factor, just look at the low light pictures.
If you have enough money to buy the adequate lens, cropping wouldnt be much needed.
December 26th, 2011 - 23:03
@ExhaustedFX You can not be serious to even suggest that cropping a image is only done when you do not have the right lens.. You simply can’t be serious… you can’t… most if not ALL print images are cropped and lenses have absolutely nothing to do with that… leaving size and quality in the raw image file is about the first thing you learn as a photographer simply because it leaves you with creative option.
Noise is not a factor since Sony says the noise level is lower than on the a55

@SquirrelFromGradLife
But you cant, the noise, lack of sharpness is a dealbreaker, plus the in house stabilizer.
Cropping is only needed if you dont have the right lenses.
