Hi there, love your videos. Anyway, i Have a question for you. I really want to get the A77, but do you think the Kit lens DT16-50mm SSM is really necessary to go with A77? (quite expensive for me) How about if i choose the basic Lens 18- 55mm or Sigma 16-50mm USM, are there much impacts on photographing? Because i am not a video person. Please give me some advices on which options on lens with best value? Thank you

should i get the a65 or the canon 60d?

@dfdtdfdx the a77′s AF is way better than d7000 in all respects!

Should i trade my rebel t3i for this?

For HDR shooters the A65 has only a 3 frame AEB with only a ( +-).3 or (+-).7 EV setting.
The A77 has 3 or 5 frame selection with adjustable EV up to (+-) 3EV in .3 steps.
I will have to save my money and wait for the A77. I’m sure this was Sony’s plan.

@dfdtdfdx – Not sure I agree with your first comment. So far my a65 has been quite impressive in the AF department. I don’t find myself missing the D7000 AF when I’m shooting with my a65. The a77 can only be better than the a65.

“You will lose a lot of dynamic range if you go with Sony.”
That’s not what the official testers at DXOMark.com have to say. For example, the dynamic range for the A77 is 13.2 EVs, whereas the dynamic range for the Canon 5D MkII is 11.9 EVs. Color depth for the A77 is 24 bits, whereas it’s 23.7 bits for the 5D MkII. The Canon has better results at higher ISOs, though, as could be expected.

via VF, d7000 will be better in AF responsiveness against A77
OTOH, d7000 AF is really bad shooting with Live View, whereas A77 maintains phase detection AF shooting still and video with Live View

Sony is coming forward with their vast electronic knowledge. Canon and Nikon might lose their game in the Digital world of cameras.

What kind of mic are you using?

I’m going to knock anyone that wants to go to Sony from Canon of Nikon. I thinking Sony is coming out with some great stuff and I only expect it to get better. I’m not sure how I feel about the OLED viewfinder, but the bodies are pro-feature packed and they’ve got some great lenses on the way. The Sony 16-50 “kit” lens is the best lens I’ve seen paired with a DSLR yet. IMOO, of course.

@camehmig I watched it but they did not do the video comparison between these two products.

@SilatGayongTiger DigitalRevTV did a video on that.

@mp4podcastDOTcom I just got a message from Mike24p and he said from his test his images are fine he said he shoots Raw.
Some people are testing there photos in jpeg mode. Yes some cameras take bad jpegs but take great raw files.

@ArtoftheImage The guys from DigitalRevCom did a side by side test with Sony A77 vs Nikon D7000 search for this video on their channel.

@mp4podcastDOTcom – Not sure I agree with that.
January 4th, 2012 - 22:18
@LasstUnsSpielen – The a77′s larger # of AF points and cross-type points mean it should focus and track faster.
January 4th, 2012 - 23:04
@crcc23 – The AF is a huge part of it, and not for video. I really like how it works for shooting photos. The a65 is the most fun DSLR (DSLT) that I’ve played with in a long time.

Why are you guys complaining about not being able to see the camera because its dark? i can see it fine. Its your screen not the video.
January 5th, 2012 - 00:31
Can somebody tell me why do I have to care about the focusing system of my camera although my lens has an internal focusing motor?

So maybe you should do some research before you comment.

I think the main benefits the A65 have going for it are the smaller size, lighter weight, and cheaper price, all with the same exact image sensor.
However, one extra thing I read that the A77 has is an ability to set minimum and maximum ISO. So, instead of having to manually set the ISO to be below a certain threshold for quality reasons, you can just give it a range of, say, ISO 100-800, and it won’t ever go beyond those bounds unless you adjust the limits again. That’s sort of cool, too.

Matt, excuse but this late videos are a tremendous crap! Very dark, poor light, poor content… Sorry, but is my opinion!
