Waterproof Shockproof Digital Camera News and Information on Waterproof Shockproof Digital Cameras

I want to buy the Polaroid i834 digital camera. Does anyone know if it is an instant flash or a delay?

I have a Kodak EasyShare right now, and I have missed so many great pictures of my daughter waiting for the delay on the flash. I want a new one that is instant with no delay on taking the picture.

  1. Most point and shoot cameras have some delay. The lag is from the amount of time it takes to charge the flash. If this is a concern, you would do better with something like the Canon A650, which uses 4 AA batteries as a power source. It charges the flash very quick.

If that is out of your budget, check out the Canon A590, which uses 2 AA batteries and is a little more compact. It can’t charge the flash as quick, but is still better than some cameras that use a little proprietary battery.

If you are talking about the time lag between pressing the shutter button and when the shutter is tripped, then you should consider getting a digital SLR. Point and shoots will always have some lag time as the camera focuses and takes the photo. Your basic DSLR will have almost no lag time, and once taken, the camera is usually ready to take another photo right away.
