Waterproof Shockproof Digital Camera News and Information on Waterproof Shockproof Digital Cameras

I broke my friend’s Polaroid digital camera ?

I don't have the money to replace it and I feel like crying.

What would be the best thing to do??

Is there some way that I could repair it myself?
The screen is cracked and the camera has a cloudy white screen.

  1. maybe you can call the company who made the camera,
and it probably has a garantee or something, cant say it wont workout
unless you try. lol, good luck. :)

  2. I wouldn’t suggest trying to repair the camera yourself, but it might be a good idea to call around to a couple camera shops and tell them what is wrong with it. Sometimes they can give you an estimate of how much it’ll cost to fix it. Polaroid cameras are on the lower-priced end of the spectrum, so the cost to cover the repairs very well may be more than what the camera is worth.

Apologize to your friend (if you haven’t already) and start looking into side-jobs. Any money you can give her to replace it would be appreciated, I’m sure.

  3. Digital cameras can’t take too much abuse (or be dropped) without great possibility of being damaged. I dropped a brand new Nikon P5100 and cost more to repair it than to buy another.

Unless your friend’s camera has a small crack or snapped off part, there isn’t much you can do.

  4. It’s not a nice feeling. But, it happened and it isn’t fixable at any sensible price level. I guess your friend would expect you to replace it, which is the downside of borrowing stuff.

Polaroid are at the budget end of the market. Use price comparison sites and you might find it doesn’t cost you quite as much as you fear. Be open with your friend. They might offer to share some of the cost if they can upgrade a little.
