How long will AA batteries last in a 8.0 megapixel i836 Polaroid digital camera?
Guy at Walmart said they'll last 10-20 minutes
>.<
And, how many pictures will the camera itself hold?
I got an SD card, and it has 16MB's on the camera

Actually they do not last any amount of time. They last for a certain number of photos. From as low as 170 to as high as 1000. This depends upon the type of batteries used.
Your camera is optimized for NiMH Rechargeable, so try using them. Next time you choose a P&S camera, then look for one that uses the state of the art Li-ion batteries.

Rechargeable AA NiMH batteries are your best (and most cost effective) option. Ordinary AA batteries are not powerful enough to run a digital camera for very long…they’re a complete waste of money, because once they drain (which is very quickly, you just throw them away. So, it’s best to buy high capacity NiMH (approx. 2500-2700mAh) and a charger.
In regards to memory. Your camera’s internal memory is quite useless because it’s only 16mb in size. This will only allow you to shoot a few images (less than 5 or 6).
So, hopefully you bought a memory card with a good capacity (1-2GB at the least). Make sure you Format your brand new memory card before you use it and everytime you need to delete all images in one go. Formatting is done in the camera’s Menu.
p.s. to extend your battery life, try to turn off the LCD screen as much as you can (in-between shots) and also limit how long you spend reviewing images…because the LCD (as well as the flash) uses most of your battery power.
