Ooops! … Sorry … I meant to type that they are up to firmware version 1.02 … NOT 1.03! If you decide to do this, make sure that you have fresh batteries installed because you don’t want the camera to shut down during the update. You might be surprised! … It might not be the fault of the lime Coke. Also, you might check the menu where you choose the battery type that you are using … It might be on the wrong setting … I always keep my setting on “Auto” for My K-x & my K-r!

I think you mentioned in the video that you never did any firmware updates. They are up to 1.03 which will allow you to use the new SDXC cards .You might find that it might fix your problem with the rechargable batteries! It only takes a few minutes to do! You need a formatted SD card of at least 32MBs. JUst go to Pentax support & find the appropriate updates, download & install on the ROOT directory on the card. Insert card with camera off & turn on while pressing “Menu.”

This is one of the better reviews out there. If someone asked me about the K-x I would probably steer them towards the K-r because its basically pretty much the same camera in most respects but fixes most or all of the things I didn’t like about the K-x and is only marginally more expensive. This camera takes some fantastic photos though.

which fisheye lens you use in this video?
November 12th, 2011 - 11:42
even when i did use recharges, live view killed it just as quick. i’ve heard other cameras (some nikons and fujifilm in particular) also don’t work very friendly with rechargeable batteries so I have yet to figure out the mystery behind that, but unfortunately I’ve had no luck with them. it may be water damage or it just may be the way it’s set up. glad it works for you!

Sorry, the video was taking a long time to load and I didn’t get to the part where you explained why you can’t use rechargeables.

What kind of batteries do you use? If they are normal alkaline, that could explain why your LV is killing them. I’ve been using NiMH rechargeable in mine, and LV or video mode doesn’t kill the battery near as quick. Also, you can get lithium ion AA’s that last a long time, but cannot be recharged. Hope this helps..
