@Dtapia63 – Notice I said: “you can let” digital cameras do everything for you. I own a Nikon D300s and a Pentax K1000. I love them both! I use them both manually.
@ibarrajesus BTW the def. of photography according to Webster is:the process or art of producing images of objects on sensitized surfaces by the chemical action of light or of other forms of radiant energy, as x-rays, gamma rays, or cosmic rays. It doesn’t say anything about film.
Sorry I had to use 2 posts to get my point across… If you will like to email me my screen name is my email @gmail. Also I am the proud owner of a Pentax K2 50mm 1.4F, R U familiar?
@ibarrajesus I will have to disagree with you, I am not saying that you are wrong but if you go back and reread my post consider this. THERE IS A MANUAL MODE ON DIGITAL DSLRs! This will help you learn faster due to the speed which you can see your results, everything is about the process you use to learn.
@Dtapia63 Because you can let digital cameras do EVERYTHING for you. On the old (SLR) manual cameras, you have to adjust everything: Apperture, shutter speed, load the film, etc. Remember: Film photography is real photography!
Hey i just got a Asahi Pentax K1000 on ebay, no lens just the body. Here is my question to you dude: what type/brand of lens is the best for this camera? What type of film should I used for black/white photos? Thanks for the information.
my late grandfather has one but it looks rusty and scratched and the lenses look rlly dirty in the inside. Whats the best lens for it? o and im not really good with photography im just starting
OMG couldn’t agree more…I own a K1000!!!! My dad gave it to me cause i got curious on taking photos and he sugested i started with his! I’m going for the k200d now hope it performs as beautifully as my k1000. Great vid by the way! Thanks for posting!
Wow! First off I totally agree about the older cameras being better learning curve. My one and only camera I have and use all the time is a Pentex MLC Super, SE which I believe is about 25 years old or better. I have two lenses 58mm 35-70mm 1:3.5 ZOOM and the other 62mm 100-300 1:5 close focusing auto zoom. With this lens I can be about 5 inches from a flower petal and take its perfect picture. I think this camera film 35mm are so great with the computer cameras is sort of like cheating IMO
well.. it would be hard job with good=expensive scanner to get some more real resolution/detail from film (fuji velvia) than K20D with primes like FA50, FA35, FA31/43/77 can do..
And then FF nikon D3x/Sony A900 with huge resolution.
this is bullshit. you can learn better with digital. just set it to full manual, and, wallah!
save your money, and don’t waist films on “learning”. probably, you won’t learn anything…
learning with digital is much better and faster, because you can actually get the results immediately, and then correct the shoot settings. instead of waiting for the film to be developed, and to find out you burned half of it.
Great video! I had a K1000 given to me and I have no clue how to use it! It came with 2 extra lenses too. I am even more anxious to get using it after hearing all the great things you had to say about it, thanks!
