A handy little voice recorder which also doubles as an MP3 player. The WS-320M can be purchased in Australia and New Zealand from www.dictate.com.au

This recorder is no longer available (in Australia and I would assume in the US and UK also). New recorders just out here are the WS-450S, WS-550M and WS-560M – however, if you are looking to record music and not voice then look to the LS-10 or other PCM digital recorders. Hope that helps

does this recorder have full range audio recording like the deepest bass to the sharpest treble? whats the sample rate? can I record into standard 128kbps stereo/mono mp3 files?

i have a ws-331m which looks to be the same except 2gb.
if you look in my clips, the gza/black lips clips were recorded without an external mic, the recorder was in my hand and pointed to the sky or towards the stage.
the mates of state @ la zona rosa clips were recorded with the 331m also, but with an external mic. i found without an ext. mic it would pick up moving around in my hand. it is an awesome little recorder though. i am very happy with it. feel free to comment if you view my clips

I took my WS311-M to a friends house and recorded a jamming session. Using the sound filters you would be *amazed* at the quality of sound! Using the optional add-on speakers actually gave a great stereo sound (guitar to left, vocals on right and both not using mics.) Absolutely amazing recordings and virtually no bakground hiss or hum. ‘tinny’ sound it does *not* have … I assure you! Other than that it’s great in helping develop language skills on the go. Great product! Frank in the UK

Hey. Yeah the door is good, obviously its small so you have to take some care with it and be gentle but as long as that is consider its fine. Would have been nice to have had a power option with the WS series as they are such excellent recorders.

Hey C
If you buy an Olympus you won’t get tinny sounds. These are developed specifically for voice recording and the sound quality is excellent.
The WS-320M has been discontinued here in Australia and replaced with the WS-321M model. Similar look and feel.

I hope this recorder isnt too expensive and the sound quality has full audio range and not a tinny compressed sound and just plugs into the PC and is a mass storage device does your recorder work like this MauriceFlower?

thats gonna be the last digital recorder ill buy, i hate the ones that require you to install software and then sync and download only to your PC and you cant send files to the player but on this one yes you can like mp3s and voice recordings
