Nikon D3000 Digital SLR Camera
The D3000 is a 10.2 megapixel DX format DSLR camera announced by Nikon on 30 July 2009. It is supposed to replace the D60 and D40 as Nikon's entry level DSLR. It features a 3.0-inch 230000-dot resolution LCD monitor, CCD sensor with ISO 100 - 1600 (3200 with Boost) and 3D tracking Multi-CAM1000 11-point AF system which makes it quite similar to the Nikon D200 in these main parts. The redevelopment of the city's Old Port took place in the early 90s, under the direction of architects Aurèle Cardinal and Peter Rose.[1] Today, the riverfront welcomes over seven million visitors per year. The historical Old Port offers Montrealers and visitors alike access to a wide variety of activities, including the Montréal Science Centre, with an IMAX Theatre, and the Montreal Clock Tower. It offers riverfront access for walking, cycling, roller-blading, quadricycle, pedalo and Segway rentals. It is also located at the eastern end of the Lachine Canal, which has itself been extensively refurbished as a popular destination for cycling, roller-blading and pleasure boating. The Old Port of Montreal changed its name to The Quays of the Old Port of Montreal in 2005. Every 2 years the Cirque de Soleil launches a new show from the Jacques Cartier Quay.[citation needed] Shipping has been moved further east to the present Port of Montreal site, leaving the riverside area of Old Port adjacent to Old Montreal as a recreational and historical area.

Cool, I get mine tomorrow. I was a bit worried about it not having live view as I’m used to it on point and shoots. , I also read reviews about the picture not being displayed for as much as 3 secconds, but that looks good enough.

@pixiecozmica
I own a D5000. I think its just good for a beginner like me. But if u want a better one u might want to buy D90. The function is almost similar to D5000. But if u’re using D5000 u can only use DX lenses. This type of lens have motor in it, which is used for automatic focusing. D5000 doesn’t have built in motor. thats why u need the DX lens. And fyi DX lenses is more expensive than the ordinary Nikkor lens.

Yes, the nikon d300 does not have live view. This means you can not look at the screen before taking a picture. bEfore you take a picture some cameras have a screen so you can view before taking a picture. You have to use the viewfinder to view a picture before you take it.

I’m thinking of buying my first DSLR and I’m considering between nikon d3000 and canon eos 1000D. Canon has live-view, but nikon doesn’t. Wich one do you suggest?
I’ve taken photographs almost four years now (with canon digital Ixus 65), so I have no experience about DSLR cameras, but I do have lot of experience about photographing itself. Even with just pocket camera.-
