Take a DSLR. They are much more expensive, but much better (obviously).
If this is one of the first cameras you’re buying, I would recommend this one. I have one and it’s great.
But my next step will be a DSLR.

lol, tigerdirect review videos always make me laugh
November 24th, 2009 - 07:54
hmm. i doubt that’s much of a problem. In fact, live view removes that DSLR feel. It doesn’t feel professional to be looking at a large screen. Looking through the viewfinder gives you that real “photographer” feeling.

When choosing camera’s ppl need to keep in mind what they are looking for. I mean how often will you shoot with an ISO of 6400? You have to be realistic and know what you will be using the camera mostly for. I have the Nikon D300 and am looking for a compact camera to carry around versus having the huge heavy DSLR to use. I think this camera has a lot to offer and is a perfect camera for those wanting to eventually upgrade to a DSLR.

The Canon SX1 is faster because it has another type of sensor.
November 24th, 2009 - 09:38
Around £200 – 250 if you search around.
