@simon44 I use the lumix ft1 for video& water shots but have a Sony a850 DSLR. What a camera. Amazing, though expensive.

@surfandyoga No you cant fix these with editing software. This is a complete white out. You need to buy things called ND filters to hold in front of the camera. I bought one on ebay for €3. Easy fix. After having the HX9V for a few days now my biggest issue is now with the zoom. It is very juttery and jumpy because of numerous factors that Sony messed up on. I’m going to return it for another (because I love it otherwise) and see if that makes any difference. It is a common problem though.

@simon44 You can easily use the Sony software that comes with it to readjust the exposure etc. It’s worth using. The PMB program. Sounds like the best of the compact cameras.

@simon44 Just had a look at it. Nice camera.

@surfandyoga I just got the HX9V from Sony today. It has an extremely fast zoom and its very quiet. My only real negative comment is against the manual mode where the appature on long shutter shots is too bright and may need to have a dark filter of some kind put over it to make it work well.

@simon44 If you want fast focus, only a DSLR will do it.
November 15th, 2011 - 15:34
@simon44 I have the FT1 and it’s good. I wouldn’t think this camera has faster focus than the tz7. And your right. Most (even HD video editing programs) cannot handle more than 10 minutes of full HD (Unless you spend $1000 on the program and then you need a new computer.

Its only 28mm though :/ which makes it less appealing. Plus very few computers can handle full 1080p video when editing so I dont see the point yet. I have the TZ7 and I like it and I was thinking of changing to this camera. Does this have a faster zoom when recording video than what the TZ7 does? The TZ7 is extremely slow to zoom when on video.

@fudashi i don’t think so

does it float..?

@evomasterryan All lenses will collect water drops. What I do (advised by a pro water cameraman) is polish the lens with car polish before you enter. Makes the water instantly run off.

Is all the footage in this vid taken with the FT3?

Where in Australia is this video shot?
November 15th, 2011 - 19:59
Thank you it was a great selection.
i have a couple of question abut this this camera compared to the previous Panasonic DMC-FT1-2 they had a lot of problems
1. Is the flash strong enough to not make the picture like it was taken in a shadow !
2. is the lens collecting water drops on it (it was deep) and how is it ??
Thanks in advance

thank you for a nice video! just wondering what camera you used to shoot the (presumably) non-FT3 shot shots.

Hi Jack, Did you know that you can go surfing with it too? Check out the Surf Camera case by Surf Camera. You can chest mount that Lumix ts2 onto your wetsuit for easy access for filming and shooting.
Great video!
