  1. Years ago I had a Fuji A205.. it never took clear sharp photos,
and I didn’t like the fact that they used the more expensive
    XD cards…

So, no I don’t like them

  2. My old camera used to be a Fuji, and for that time being i loved the picture quality. Right now i own a Canon s80, and i just love it. It is a point and shoot camera with advance features such as shutter speed control, flash length, etc. Plus it is not as big as canon g-series.

If u r goin to buy a new camera i would highly recommend Canon G7.

  3. I do.

A Fuji M603…….got because it takes video quality film which was mainly why I wanted it.
Has a large screen with but no viewfinder which I didn’t need.
Takes two different card formats so I can mix and match as I see fit.

It’s a few years old now and many cameras have caught up with it but that just proves how ahead of it’s time it was.

It’s still a great camera that does everything I want it to do, there’s no need for me to replace it so that just gives me value for money as well.

  4. Fuji has addressed the issue that nobody else is doing. They make their own ccds (detectors). Instead of chasing the megapixel race, they instead created a better piece of “film” that has lower noise.

Their lenses are top notch, their low noise sensors are unbeatable at high ISO. My F31fd is very responsive in startup (well under 2 sec), and autofocus (0.2-0.3sec) which I love. On the down side, the xD cards aren’t the fastest for rapid fire mode.

Now, I’m talking about the Fuji F-series (F20, F30, F31fd, F40) and S-series (S6000fd, S9100) cameras. their A-series cameras are their lower priced line and are fine, but nothing special.

For those who are in love with their Canon cameras- check out this comparison with a top of the line (and more expensive) Canon SD800IS vs a Fuji F31fd.

And then tell me that Canon makes the best cameras.

  5. My daughter loves her S5200. Most she likes is the image quality along with the 10X optical zoom.

  6. I have had completely opposite experiences with Fuji.

First I had a Fuji S7000 advanced compact. 6MP 6x zoom and it was a wonderful camera. Sharp clear vivid shots. I took many great photos with it, and I still love it.

Then the Fuji S9500 (S9000) came out. This was 9MP with 10.7x zoom, so I immediately raced out and bought one. This camera is pathetic in my opinion. It takes photos OK up to about 30′, after that they are “blocky” not sharp and clear. I don’t know what is wrong with it, but when I take the same photo with all the same manual settings on tripods with both cameras, people can immediately tell the difference in the photos. I got the chance to test a work colleague’s S9500 and if anything his was slightly worse!

I then moved on to Nikon DSLRs. First buying a D50 then a D80. If your budget will go there, please please please buy one of these fantastic cameras instead. You will be so pleased with what you can do and the results you get.
