  1. I got Fujifilm camera as a gift. Within 3-4 months of buying it, the flash stopped working. I sent it back as it was under warranty. Fujifilm agreed to repair the flash for $60. They said the lower end of the camera had minor scratch. Pray tell me..how does it impact the flash? Customer service was sooo poor. I was badly disaapointed. Save your money & buy a Canon or Nikon. FUJIFILM DO NOT HONOUR THEIR WARRANTY.

  2. The darn thing came and worked intermittently. Most of the time, it showed an error “zoom error”. I googled the issue and found that Fuji had the same problem with many of its cameras. I called Fuji customer service and they said to return the unit. It cost me $7 in return postage.

It was limited on special effects (e.g., no black&white).

  3. I bought this camera because my old one broke and I needed a new one. This one was one of the cheaper ones that I found with good reviews. I only gave it a 4 because the pictures come out real bright, guess I miss my old camera, but it does the jobs, its better than spending another 300$!

  4. Don’t be fooled by the insanely high megapixels. Image quality is not the best. Images come out noisy even at low ISO. Also, I’ve noticed some lens distortion at the wide angle zoom. Autofocus has trouble finding a subject if it’s not directly in the middle of the frame. Still, it’s a good deal for the price, just don’t expect to take anything other than snapshots with friends.

The camera is small and very lightweight.

The menu can be a bit cumbersome to navigate.

Zooming in preview mode is slow.

There are a lot of interesting features such as face recognition if that sort of thing interests you.

Would I recommend this? Yes because for a good price, it takes decent photos with a multitude of features.

  5. Bought the Fujifilm Finepix J38 camera for myself (non professional) just in time for Thanksgiving & Christmas. My previous camera was a HP digital, older model. It had great quality pix, but was a bit large, and also ate AA batteries for breakfast. Was time for an upgrade. I still have a Fuji 35mm camera (non digital), purchased early 90′s. Still works great so sticking with quality company. I’m enjoying the camera.

    Easy to use.

Nice and small, fits the pocket inside my purse.

Easy to upload pictures to my computer (or straight to [...])

Picture quality seems pretty good, lighting/flash works well automatically.

Fully charged the battery once before Thanksgiving and it’s still going (January).

    Great little point-and-shoot of camera.

Easy to preview and review stored photos.

Haven’t tried anything fancy with settings or video yet, but very pleased so far.
