@fujiguys yeah the panorama feature is pretty awesome,
because you can play them like a movie.
October 25th, 2011 - 23:03
@stancool11 Congrats. I would try out the panorama feature as it works quite well.

@Superman240706 The Discharge option allows you to fully discharge NiMH batteries so they become drained. By doing this once in a while, it prolongs the life of NiMH batteries. Typically, you use the camera until the batteries die, then you charge them again. If you use the batteries a bit, then charge then, then use them a bit, the resistances in the battery increases and will cause the battery to carry less and less full charge. As maintenance, using the discharge feature will help.

Ok so i just purchased some Rechargeable NiMH 2450mAh batteries and im charging them for about 16 hours this week ( Per Pack x4 ) so i dont have to whilst im in holiday later this month , But as i was looking at the camera i noticed this ‘ DISCHARGE’ option what does that do ?
Thanks

@fujiguys removed batteries and left in trash after hitting with a claw hammer several times , think ill try your HS 20 next just hope it comes upto scratch , dont get me wrong the s1600 took some nice pictures it really did but i should be able to clean the lens without this happening in 2011 and no i didnt have warranty as was purchased second hand off ebay .
October 26th, 2011 - 01:05
@darksidehumourxx It is not normal for moisture to get into the lens as it is sealed. If you just purchase this camera, it should still be under warranty. You can check with your local Fuji service centre or go back to the retailer that sold you the camera. As the lens is fixed and sealed to the camera, you can’t interchange it. Also, condensation may happen with any electronics when you move it from two extreme climates (cold to hot). Remove batteries and leave in dry place for several days

@fujiguys mmm well i used a proper lens cleaner and cloth however the obvious failing is with the lens which obviously wasnt sealed properly . You cant help thinking that if fujifilm just used a decent cement on the lens set up then moisture getting into the lens set up would be less likely . So here i am stuck with a useless camera which went of date the day it went on sale . Any reason why you dont sell replacement lenses for this camera seeing as it unlocks in a fixed body ?
October 26th, 2011 - 01:43
@darksidehumourxx When cleaning any lens, it is recommend to use a proper lens cloth. As for the LCD, with proper care, you can avoid scratches. You could even purchase a 3rd party LCD protector like you do with ipods/iphone/etc… Also, S1600 is now an older model, it is replaced by the S2950.

Tacky cheap camera which when you clean the lens which is also cheap crap lets moisture seep between and clouds up forever . Oh and the lcd screen is also cheap plastic no glass which scratches as easily as looking at it . The auto focus gets constantly confused . Plus most shops dont stock it anymore Argos Currys Comet Pc World have all ceased to sell it . Thanks for nothing but hassle fujifilm and a useless camera .

October 26th, 2011 - 02:09
@stancool11 during video recording = no. If you mean when you play back the video, can you pause the video = yes.
October 26th, 2011 - 02:25
is there a pause button ?
October 26th, 2011 - 02:40
@Vividvideos228 S1600 replaces S1500. S2950 replaces S1600/S1800. Image quality for these cameras are very similar. The latest camera S2950 offers 18x Zoom, Wide angle at 28mm, Mini HDMI port, Updated Panorama Shooting Mode that is very easy to do. Check out the S2950 top features vid.
October 26th, 2011 - 03:13
is it better than the s1500
October 26th, 2011 - 03:50
@thetimvilla No. Sorry. MF is not available on this camera.
October 26th, 2011 - 04:22
is there manual focus?
October 26th, 2011 - 05:06
@BeautyWithinX Max video clip is 15mins. Once it hits 15mins, the camera stops the video. You can record more clips of course but max lenght is 15min in HD. 26min in VGA mode however.
October 26th, 2011 - 05:57
@fujiguys okay thanks, i do beauty videos on youtube and most last about 12 minutes, so they will be able to last longer than that right
October 26th, 2011 - 06:38
@BeautyWithinX It comes with AA Alkalines. don’t last that long. Get a good set of NiMH recheageable batteries (recommend Sanyo Eneloop) or other low discharged NiMH type batteries. They last pretty long and don’t lose their charge like typical NiMH batteries. Approx 500 shots per charge.
October 26th, 2011 - 07:16
@fujiguys okay thankyou. and also is the battery good, because my camera now has a lithium battery, and im wondering how well the 4 AA batteries will work, do they alst a long time?
October 26th, 2011 - 08:04
@BeautyWithinX Yes it can autofocus during video recording.
October 26th, 2011 - 08:39
hello, i am going to get this camera for my birthday (cant wait) and i was just wondering does it auto focus when your filming? like during a video if you hold something up will it focus it? please reply, thankyou!

@bizz444sk8 Make sure the description mentions that it will fit the S1600/S1800/S2500hd/S1700. There is no thread on the S1600 to attach any adapter so the adapter tube most likely will be attached by screws that is pressure tighten to the lens barrel of the camera. I would check with the website first before purchasing.
October 26th, 2011 - 09:15
@fujiguys Thankyou, one more question though! If the lens says that it comes with an “adapter tube” does this mean I will be able to fix the fisheye on?? Because the website I want to get my fisheye from says it comes with an adapter tube and there’s a diagram showing that it will help you get the lens on.
