I bought the hs20
and dust was under the lens in two weeks! I returned it and got another one and dust was under the lens in two days! It’s a nice camera for the money. But to think how bad the dust would get over time and the effects on the auto focus? So returned it and went with the Nikon d3100.

@orence69 I would check with fujifilm service centre in your area if you continue to have issues. Canada 1-800-461-0416. US, 1-800-800-FUJI, everywhere else, check your local fuijfilm website for contact numbers.

@060109558 Hi. Sorry to hear you are having problems with your camera. 1. Reset the cameras setting via the Setup menu (Menu/ok), choose the “setup tab” and scroll down to “Reset” the camera). 2. Format your memory card using the camera prior to using it. 3. Ensure your batteries have a good charge. Recommend picking up Low Discharged NiMH batteries like Sanyo Eneloop. 4. The latest firmware is 1.03, you can try updating it from our support website on Fujifilm.ca

i’ve just buy an HS20EXR (29-07-2011), first use there was no problem with it, but few seconds later it become “Hang” after i take a picture, the LCD doesn’t go ready for another take…then i try to shut it down, but it doesn’t work, the LCD still staring at me, even the button was turned off…then i take out the batteries.
then i try to turned it on again and check the firmware, it is version 1.01 instead of 1.00 ? i decided to turn it to the store…
i hope fuji guys could help me on this..

@fujiguys From wiki “A single-lens reflex (SLR) camera is a camera that typically uses a semi-automatic moving mirror system (hence the name “reflex”, from the mirror’s reflection) that permits the photographer to see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system, as opposed to pre-SLR cameras where the view through the viewfinder could be significantly different from what was captured on film.”

@BullBeatz96 Sorry, your correct. They do offer an electronic viewfinder. I guess the line from Bridge-camera and D-SLR are getting more blur these days. Lets than say that an SLR has a mirror that flips up to reveal a image sensor where as the HS20, it does not have a mirror.
October 24th, 2011 - 20:36
@fujiguys
there’s DSLRs with an Electronic view finders , like the sony alpha A55 and A33 , how is that ?
October 24th, 2011 - 21:16
@BullBeatz96 It’s because the one thing that makes a SLR and SLR is the fact that when you look at the eye piece, you are actually looking direclty through the lens (optically). With the HS20, you are looking through the lens however it is an electronic representation of it instead.
October 24th, 2011 - 21:56
it’s got everything like SLR But the replaceable lens , why we can say it’s SLR ?
October 24th, 2011 - 22:43
@clickerstickz It also says “wow”.
October 24th, 2011 - 23:41

@alexknot Hi, Please ensure you are not deleting images from the camera when connected to your computer. This can cause such issues. After download your images, try formating the memory card using the camera. And when deleting images, use the camera to do this while disconnected from the computer.
