Anyone know of a great Olympus or Fuji point-and-shoot digital camera?
I'm looking for details here... I have lots of xD memory and my camera has gone belly up... anyone have feedback on current Olympus or Fuji digital cameras?

In the compact variety two of my friends have just bought the Olympus MJU740, I love them. weather proof, image stabilization, 5X optical zoom, great camera.
From Fuji I like the S6500/S6000. I have the predecessor, the S7000, and it has been a great camera. I still use it even though I bought SLRs afterwards.
The only one that stinks is the Fuji S9500/S9000. I have one of those too and the pictures are just not sharp and clear.

Between those two brands…sorry, but Olympus is a brand I would never consider (due to it’s so-so photo quality).
The Fujifilm Finepix F30, however, is a compact point & shoot camera that performs extremely well in low light (high ISO, handheld, no flash). No other compact can compete with it in this area. I would buy it for that capability alone.
So, if you want a compact camera particularly for low light situations, then it’s the one to get. It also has great battery life of up to 580 shots.
The newer, F31 fd, is a minor update but hasn’t been reviewed as yet.
But, if you ever decide to invest in SD memory, then have a look at Canon
