Pick a Canon Digital Camera for Life – Canon 550D T2i 600D T3i 60D 7D 5D MkII 1D MkIV 1Ds MkIII

artoftheimage.blogspot.com - We did a video on picking a Nikon DSLR for the rest of your life, so of course we need to do the Canon side. So, if you had to pick a Canon DSLR to last you the rest of your life, what would it be? The Canon 550D, the Canon 600D, the Canon 7D the Canon 5D MkII, the Canon 1D MkIV, or the Canon 1DS MkIII?

  1. 5D mk2

  2. mine to canon 7d… thanks

  3. Why is Canon so incredibly annoying with naming some of their cameras twice? I would’ve really looked into Canon’s if it wasn’t so confusing. Being new to DSLR’s, there’s already a gazillion things to learn and look into, adding double names makes it more difficult than needed. (Went D7000 btw)… Great vids, I enjoy them.

  4. I got 7D becouse of AF, speed and argonomic , but if my budget would afford 1Ds mark lll i would get exactly this camera !!

  5. @ArneBergsch The 7D wont be updated until about late 2012 or 2013. Then it’ll be the 7D Mark II. The 5D Mark III and 1Ds Mark IV are out this year.

  6. I’d wait for the follower of 7D, is that 8D?

  7. i would get the 600D
low price , a nice dslr , don’t care about built quality , a flip out screen
    and again the PRICE!!!

  8. Would pick the 60d, reasons:
    1. Good size, not to big or small,
    2. Good built quality,
    3. Articulating Screen,
    4. Reasonably priced.

  9. 600D, couse is light , variable screen, not to expensive , discreet.

  10. Never had a dslr camera before, have used my sister and brother in-law’s camera, which is 400d and 50d(i think) and i so love taking pictures. still loving so much the 60D coz it’s new, swivelling camera and the system…but I’m having a crush on the 7d. yikes! hehehe.. need to do more research. =)

  11. I never had a camera b4. Im buying the 60d is there a light i can attach to it? not for pictures but video.

  12. @MattAndi – Just a fun though exercise. :-)

  13. @TechFreak60 – Plugged a lavalier into the Zoom H2 as the kids were making a lot of noise in the background.

  14. For stills I agree the 7D is a great choice. Though, if the camera is mainly going to be used for video then I would recommend the T2i, 60D and Canon 5D Mark ii.

  15. I love my 1D Mark IV. I’ll be keeping it for a long Time.

  16. right now I am using my 550D as I am still a student..probably be buying a 5D Mark III when I am older with income…or probably by that time, 5D Mark IV already.. For now.. Investing on external flashes and lenses first before getting a bigger and better body.. lenses are important in my situation now.. GREAT VIDEO still! :) )

  17. The 7d is great, but I love Full frame so I would take the 5d markII over it. Yes a little bit slower focus, but with better IQ I’ll take it.

  18. I will choose 60D and invest more on lenses. :)

*60D is great for making videos in YouTube too :D

  19. Canon 1DS MkIII: I’d choose a pro. :D

  20. What happen to your mic?

  21. in the previous vid i said i’d pick a 5D MkII because of full frame, and image quality but then you’ve got a point with the autofocus is quite dated and the 7D trumps it.

  22. @MattAndi agreed

  23. life changes.. what I need in a camera now might not be what I need later in life. silly question, imo.

  24. I agree with you …7D is amazing fast and solid camera
I can’t stop shooting and playing with it …it’s a great camera.

  25. Mine is the 60D Because of that outstanding Screen!!! and the video settings with like manual mick control seeing as that i do a little more filming than proper photograhy.
but if the screen on the 60D wasnt made i would choose the 7D aswell..
